Cornelia Potts is a wicked old witch of a woman with millions of dollars, a henpecked husband, and six miserable children. When, one by one, the inhabitants of the Potts household are visited by death, Cornelia watches with delight. During a visit, Ellery Queen finds himself supervising a duel between Thurlow Potts and his half brother Robert, so he makes sure the guns are loaded with blanks. But when one of the brothers really dies, Ellery realizes he's up against a very cunning murderer. This copy is bright and clean inside, previous owner name on first free endpaper. Front and back endpapers and edges of page block have moderate freckling and theres a general spine slant. Tan cloth covers have brown type and picture; covers are very clean, bottom of spine worn. Unclipped DJ has bright artwork on front panel; however, edges are worn, spine has 1" gap at top and 1/4 gapping at bottom and tips, and back panel has overall soiling. The book is VG/Good condition (in Brodart). Price: 20.00 USD

Very clean inside, previous owner name neatly written on front free end paper. Top edge is red; light moisture freckling on top edge and outside edge. Black cloth covers with red art and typography are bright. Tips of covers/spine ends are lightly bumped; there is superficial moisture discoloration to back cover (hidden by dust jacket). Front panel of dust jacket is bright, moderate wear to spine ends and edges, particularly tips; several closed tears along folds (healed in Brodart protective covering). White back panel and flap of dj are browned and moisture stained, spine lightly sunned. Overall a VG/VG- copy. Price: 225.00 USD
