Ltd. 1955 1st Edition Potter, Beatrix Hardcover with dust jacket, four-color and B&W illustrations throughout, many never before pubished. LAID IN are photostats of two letters received by L.Linder, who was instrumental in putting this book together. The first is from Marian Hyde, Lady-in-Waiting to the Queen Mother, written on Clarence house stationery, thanking Linder for a gift copy of the book, noting that Prince Charles and Princess Anne love the Potter books. The second, on Balmoral Castle stationery, is to Linder from ___ Adams, writing in behalf of The Queen. The book itself is clean inside, the front endpaper is a bit browned around the edges. The green cloth covers are gilt embossed with gilt type and art; there is light rubbing to the spine ends and tips, else they are very nice. The dust jacket is bedraggled, and although in one piece, is heavily chipped and missing portions from both the top and bottom edges (in Brodart). Overall VG/Poor condition. Price: 75.00 USD
