Hardcover, 403 pages plus ads. The text of this volume are the reproduction of a series of articles which Spear (1812-1891) published in the "Independent" of New York City. Spear was an Episcopal priest in Brooklyn. Interior is free of any underlining, etc, a few light finger smudges here and there. Name crossed out on inside back cover. Top edge of page block looks soiled. Olive green cloth covers have bright gilt title on spine. Light moisture puckering to back cover; spine ends lightly rubbed and tips lightly bumped. Overall a VG or better copy. SCARCE
