Downing is one of the few Native american authors of mystery and detective fiction. A Choctaw, he was raised in Oklahoma, where he attended college; he lived in Mexico City and set many of his stories in Mexico.This book is considered his best work. This is a bright clean copy of the book, light tanning to the inside covers and very small discoloration at bottom tip of first few pages. Top edge of page block is black.The red cloth covers are bright and clean, however moisture has lifted a bit of color from the entire bottom 2-3" of the front panel and bottom 2" of spine bottom.. Tips nice, very light rubbing, no bumping. Interior Near Fine; covers VG. (no dust jacket)
