1 Constable, Thomas Archibald Constable and His Literary Correspondents: A Memorial (3 Volumes, complete)
Edinburgh Edmonston and Douglas 1873 First Edition Hardcover Good
Three half-leather bound hard cover volumes, complete set; steel engraving present in Volume 1. This is an x-library set with kind interior markings: each volume has an attractive bookplate on the inside front cover, perforated library name on the title page (not affecting text), and several numbers on the next page and last page; card pocket and date due slips at back. Remaining pages bright and clean inside. Delux half-leather binding has tan leather and red marbled boards (and matching endpapers), plus marbled edges. The spines have five hubs and are printed in gold, red and black. Volumes have book store label of John R. Norrie, Edinburgh. The boards have light surface rubbing and the leather is substantially scuffed on all volumes. Back outside hinge of Volume 1 is broken; library tape repair to inside back hinge on Volume 2. Spine label on each, else spines are still quite attractive; library labels on back covers of all volumes. We feel that this beautiful set is eminently restorable. Scans upon request, questions gladly answered.
