Cincinnati Applegate & Co. 1853 First Edition Hardcover Very Good 
Small format book (3x4-1/2"), 192 pages includes index of titles. (...arranged for one, two, three and four voices, with an extensive variety of Popular Temperance Songs, designed for The People.) Fillmore, (1815-1875), was a talented musician and the father of seven, and spent his life writing and publishing music books. His soul-stirring melodies are still favorites in hundreds of congregations, while scores of music teachers ministered instruction in "the divine art" as they learned it from him. His children later founded the publishing firm - The Fillmore Brothers Music House in Cincinnati, Ohio. Interior clean with light tanning to endpapers and page edges. Penciled inscription on front endpaper. Exterior is brown leather and paper-covered boards. The spine is well-worn and the leather is split at hinge, but it is holding firmly; Tips rubbed and back surface of cover rubbed. This is sturdy little book in VG condition. SCARCE Includes musical notations
