1 Irving, A. B. (Music) ; N. Y. Evening Post (Words) We Are Coming Father Abraham: Or, Three Hundred Thousand More (Sheet Music)
Chicago H. M. Higgins 1862 Paperback Very Good
Oversize sheet music VINTAGE, not a reprint. Five pages and blank back cover. The 1862 call for 300,000 volunteers came at a time of Union discouragement, when the army seemed unable to take decisive action in advancing toward the main goal, the capture of Richmond, the Confederate capital. A Northern abolitionist Quaker, James Sloan Gibbons, at that time wrote one of the most stirring of all calls to arms and called it "We Are Coming, Father Abraham". This copy is in very nice condition, haveing been bound with many other Civil War-era music. It has light tanning, but not other damage than signes of having been bound into the book (not trimmed). Overall VG condition. Scans upon request
